Eyelift
(Blepharoplasty)
upper and lower eyelids
Blepharoplasty, more commonly known as eyelid surgery, is a surgical procedure that is administered to correct any defects or deformities of the upper and lower eyelids caused by ageing, injury, or heredity. Eyelid surgery may be an ideal solution for treating visible signs of ageing on the lower and upper eyelids, which include wrinkles, dark circles, puffiness, eye bags, and hooded eyelids caused by excess skin and fat. This operation may also be performed to reshape a monolid eyelid by creating an upper eyelid crease or fold.
On occasion, eyelid surgery may be considered as a reconstructive procedure if it is done to correct or restore lost range of peripheral vision caused by drooping or sagging upper eyelids. Often times, other cosmetic operations such as a
facelift or neck lift may be performed in conjunction to address other age-related signs of decline on the face, to ensure a harmonised and natural-looking aesthetic result.
